so what if X Japan is disbanded! they are still great(but hide is the best)!! Of course Dir en Grey is very good too(its incredible how Kyo can use his voice). They are all very talented ones!

The King of J-Rock is hard to say. Cause like rika shinya pointed out the king has to eventually pass the crown. I mean everyband has had their era when they were on top of the world. I can think of many GREAT bands who you would say ruled during their time. And then you have a band like X-Japan, who not only during their time was King, but have their legacy that makes people forever love them. But I feel that you can always be great and always be a legend that will always be talked about but eventually you have to pass the Baton.
So For Me, KINGS of J-Rock (pass, present and possible future)
X-Japan
Luna Sea
Malice Mizer
L'arc~en~Ciel
Dir en Grey
The Pillows
B'z
Gackt
and we have our young Princes:
Miyavi
Gazette
D'espairs Ray (old band, but for me not quite King)
Kaggra,
I love Janne Da Arc too, they are also in my list of Kings of J-rock. speaking of princes, maybe Vidoll could be next..even though they are still indies. Jui definately has some impressive vocals.
