Kekkon Oiwai Kin?

I wondered if anyone could explain me more about 'Kekkon Oiwai Kin'..?
I tried to search online and also on this forum but couldnt find anything.

I will be getting married to my Japanese fiancee, and his father mentioned that if we marry before he retires (heh), he is going to get some money from his employer. My fiancee said this is called Kekkon Oiwai Kin. I got curious of this, since I've never heard of such thing!
Is this a common thing in all companies/employers in Japan..? Paying a certain amount of money to their employees if one of their children gets married? Is there some symbolic meaning, is it religious related or...? Is this an old tradition?

Any little bits of info is welcome, I found this interesting... and sort of funny as well

Some companies' employees may join their mutual aid system.

The employees get mutual-aid money, when they marry, or when they have a baby, or when they become ill and admission to hospital, or when their family member die.

It is a kind of mutual-aid insurance, which is run by the company.

Sounds like a nice system, and I suppose makes sense as my fiancees both parents are teachers --> From all the businesses/employers I'd imagine the school system etc. having that sort of arrangements.

It's also common that companies pay those celebration or condolence money to employees in Japan. As for wedding, it would be for employees own ones in most cases, though. Those money are considered a kind of employee benefit costs.
