Hi guys, sorry for the romaji. iPad. I know it's about context. There is a business called haato pureneto.

The sentence is.

Haato pureneto Kara toori wo mittsu hasanda machi no naka ni chisai na kangen burasageta shigaku ie ga arimashita.

Is this place sandwiched between three streets one of which is the towns main street. And where/what is the square house that the small sign that is hanging from.

A bit lost at the moment.

Kara is a particle that is used like a "because", for example.. 日本語が難しいKARA, 日本語を勉強してください。。。（Because Japanese is difficult, please do study it) This is what had been thought to us in school, the basic use, I don't know if there is other way of using this particle, but this is one. I hope this helps.

Haato pureneto(Haato puranetto "Heart Planet", maybe?) kara toori wo mittsu hasanda machi no naka ni chiisana kanban wo burasageta shikakui ie ga arimashita.

That is one of the most common meaning of kara "from".

Kara as "because" is a conjunction particle(接続助詞), not a case particle(格助詞). "Noun + から" NEVER means just "because" ("because of" is possible, though.).

So if it's use is " because of" does the sentence mean. Because of the fact that heart planet is wedged between 3 streets a sign has been hung from a house so that people know it's there?

So using from.

From heart planet to main street. There are three streets that you pass until you see a small sign hanging from a square house.

The uses for the verb hasumu are very broad. I've used the meaning of insert/between.

I've never come across the grammar structure. toori wo mittsu hasumu. Is that a usual way to describe a location?

That is a single sentence. The core of it is "ie ga arimashita" There was a house.
"Haato puranetto kara toori wo mittsu hasanda" modifies "machi no naka".
"Machi no naka ni" indicates the location of the house.
"Chiisana kanban wo burasageta" and "shikakui" both modifies "ie".

"Toori wo mittsu hasanda" means that there are three streets between Heart Planet and the location of the house.

"Main street" is not mentioned in the sentence at all. You think 街[machi] as "street", maybe?

Yes. It's quite commonly used as same as "~ wo number + counter hedateta".

Yes the kanji for machi was what you said. My dictionary had boulevard, street, town. Now you mention it it does make sense as town. For some reason I thought of the location as the boulevard i.e the main street of town.
So the houses location is the middle of town, three streets from heart planet. It is a square house with a small sign hanging from it.

FYI, when 街 is used as a stand-alone kanji, it's always read まち, as you read, and always means "city/town". On the other hand, when 街 means "street", it's always read がい and often follows the name of the street, as in ウォール街 "Wall Street", 五番街 "Fifth Avenue".

So it has the same kanji then but different in hiragana and somewhat different in the meaning as town or street. Thanks, I was learning as well reading some other threads.
