Hi ..

I'm thinking to go to japan to study there and apply for an undergraduate course in one of the Engineering branches ..

I thought of applying to monbukagakusho scholarship and found out that i'm above the age limit ..

NOW the plan is .. to go as a self-supported student .. get good grades in the firs term.. and then apply to the scholarship from there

but in this website : Government-sponsored

in Domestic Selection part at the end says : " Privately financed, full-time postgraduate foreign students, prospective postgraduate students, and full-time, prospective fourth-year undergraduate university students are granted domestic selection scholarships ... etc

what does it mean by fourth-year undergraduate .
does it mean that i have to BE in my fourth year of study ..
or is it that my intention is to study for four years ..

although it's obvious to that it's the first one .. Is it ?? :erm:

hope I'm wrong >> .... NEED HELP

"Prospective" fourth-year undergraduate = third-year undergraduate.

prospective
Adjective:

(of a person) Expected or expecting to be something particular in the future.
Likely to happen at a future date; concerned with or applying to the future.

well .. I thought so ..

I'll try to figure something out for the first three years.
and also I have to go to japan on my own expense to learn the language for a year then take the jasso test ... mmm .. looks really complicated to me.

thanks ..(Mike Cash) and (Glenski ) for your replays .. hope the best for you guys.
