he also did Howls moving castle and Laputa in terms of Studio Ghibli. He has composed alot of films in corporation with Japanese actor and presenter Takeshi 'Beat' Kitano. He's one of the best composers I have ever listened to, well his music..lol.

I love that song. A friend of mine was playing it today and that was the first time I'd heard it in maybe a year. Have you seen Kikujiro, Dutch Baka? That's one of my favorite movies.

Joe is amazing he's done the soundtrack for just about every Hayao Miyazaki movie and my favorite would have to be A Summer's Day, it brings back fond memories of the first few scenes in Spirited Away.

joe hisaishi's songs are really awesome. brilliant subtle pianist with golden melodies. his songs always give me the feeling of adventure, nostalgia, and bittersweet memories.

I absolutely love Joe Hisaishi's work. My personal favorite is *In the name of life" (I think the Japanese title was "innochi no mae"). The version with lyrics is wonderful!
