JLPT Level 4, another query

Looking through the material from the MLC for the JLPT4 I have a quick query. I've got my Hiragana down pat now, thankfully, and now need to work on my verbs and structures. I'm also about to start the Kanji. One query, do I need to know my Katakana for the JLPT4?

Yes. Some of the vocabulary words in the past have been 'loan words'. Take a look at this page for some study guides for the test. BTW, its a really good page.
