Japan Railtrip

Hi,
I'll be going on a trip to Japan with 4 friends,all 17-18 yeas old,next summer (07).We agreed on getting a rail pass so we will be able to visit all of Japan.
I've got a few questions about what is especially worth doing?
Where are you most likely to actually meet some interesting people?
And most important how old do you have to be to be able to legally buy tobacco and beer?

Thx ,do you no where I'd be able to find out about ,which the minimum age for beeing able to buy alcohol and tobacco legally is?

Liquor and a cigarette cannot buy less than 20 years old.
The person who sold liquor and a cigarette is arrested.
The salesclerk of the convenience store which sold a cigarette was really arrested.

So you're not allowed to drink alcohol if you are part of a minority in japan?
Hmmmm..... crud so I'll have do be without alcohol and cigarettes for 2 weeks
Hmmm... is there anything I could do to fill in for tobacco and alc?Somebody postet in another topic that white guys have a big plus with japanese gals is that really true?
It's kinda difficult to really believe for me

dont let that stop ya.. you can buy sigs and beer out of vending machines. but i doubt they will even card you at a store if you dont look like a ***** trying to buy it.

and as far as the girls.. there are always a group of japanese girls who like japanese guys.. or american guys.. or black guys.. like anyone else they have a certain group that they may like more then others.

So I will probably get some alc or tobacco or are most youveniles in Japan 1,98m?^^
But how come you used the term american guys instead of white guys?

Jep ,what is there you should definetly have done?
But please don't tell me to go to any castles or old mansions remember I live in germany this place is a dump for that sort of building.
So what would there be to do , the travel guides don't really show me the japan I am looking for.

well what are you looking for?

I still recomend you visit atleast a few shrines and temples.
Take the bullet train
Take a local train during "rush hour" in Tokyo
for some reason i love the trains lol.
just depends on what your wanting to do. whatever it is you can find it.
