hie i am new here! i want to know how old can you go to a high school in japan?
 
Are you talking about an exchange student, or a Japanese? Graduating age is usually 18 here, but if someone is held back, they can graduate older. I know of one kid who graduated at 20. I knew of an exchange student who attended at 19.
 
Why not ask your high school if they have an exchange program, or do some research on your own? There are undoubtedly several options available to you, but we aren't from Singapore and probably aren't aware of them.

It would also be clearer if you just said how old you are and ask whether you're eligible to go to a high school in Japan, instead of being so vague about it.
 
What do you want to study? Will credits here transfer to your current school? I agree with nicegaijin that an exchange program is the way to go and that you should talk to your school counselor first, but just what is the purpose of your study?

Also, how good is your Japanese? Teachers won't speak any other language unless you are in an English class, and even then, the Japanese teachers will do most of their explaining in Japanese.

I didn't put that there, I found it looking for an appropriate picture capable of expressing how I feel reading your posts.
 
If your thinking about studying abroad, it usually depends on your program / country. The two most popular study abroad programs are AFS and YFU. I think that you have to be 18 or under for both of these programs. However, if you go to a Japanese highschool, they will never put you into the senior class, because all that class does is study for college entrance exams, and it would be very boring for you.
 
Sorry to ride on this thread. I'm interested in a High school exchange program as well.
I'm over 18 so most of the sites that offer study abroad don't seem to be relevant to me.
Do you reckon they make exceptions? Is it possible some other way?
