After this, there's more ice-related news:

A Japanese manufacturer, Iceman, aims to expand its export markets for seawater ice machines, particularly in regions like Southeast Asia, where cold chain infrastructure is underdeveloped.

Iceman's drum-shaped machines convert seawater into large ice flakes, which are ideal for chilling seafood and other perishable products. This technology is particularly valuable in areas with limited freshwater resources. Additionally, seawater freezes at lower temperatures than freshwater, which helps inhibit bacterial growth and maintain product freshness. Iceman plans to market machines that produce sherbet-like ice in regions with a reliable electricity supply, perfect for packing around freshly caught fish.

Iceman's sales for the year ended April were 1.1 billion yen ($7 million), with overseas accounting for 100 million yen. The company aims to raise overseas revenue to equal domestic sales and nearly triple the overall figure to 3 billion yen by the year ending April 2034.
