The first time I visited Japan was when I was 12, and loved the country, since then I have been back 9 times and each time my apprieciation grows for the country even more. Recently, I've been considering applying for perminant residence in Japan but I'm not sure how to go about it and not much info appears to be availiable on the Internet.

I'm 18 years old, white, British, speak Japanese to an intermidiate level, sadly, I have no qualifications to speak of other than standard ones you usually get when you leave school.

What are my chances of getting a work visa or something? I'd be prepaired to do any job I could get if the pay was enough to support myself which would probably be the ****** jobs, you know, like stacking shelves in stores, etc.

As far as permanent residence goes, you can pretty much forget about it under your current circumstances.

A working holiday visa is probably your best bet. But if you intend to come here to live for an extended period there isn't much getting around the general requirement for a university degree. Nor would I recommend you try it even if it weren't required.

Thanks, the Working holiday visa looks like my only option, but I haven't been able to find much infomation on it. Do I have to already have a job offer or can I get the Working Holiday Visa and then search for a job in Japan from there?

Also, would I have to have enough money to support myself for 12 months while in Japan?
