anyone here heard of the hidden martial arts skill,
The art of the Defromat,
the story: it has been passed down by generations of a japanese american family, and now the current sibling that is still alive has no children so he is passing it down by training people, but only selected people.

the last surviving member of the family, lives in america at the moment but his father moved to america in the late 1920's just around the time karate made it to america, so his parents are half japanese and half american,
this hidden art is it true, can a hidden martial art really stay hidden?

im going to do more research into this one. :?

i've just found out that he is currently training with a tae kwon do expert, apparently he is taking some admoration to other martial arts,
to understand the philosophy of fighting like know your enemy stuff.

I keep on getting no name behind this person no wonder it is so secret.

it just says hidden martial arts of a family not even a last name.

will keep updated.

Defromat?

Thats its name?

Defromat?

That doesn't sound remotely Japanese.

Regarding can a martial art stay hiden? Can a family recipe stay hidden? A grandfathers manuscript? A family quilt whee each generation adds to it/

Of course. Same with a martial art. All to possible that the family varied karate a great deal as a 'family thing'. Now some guy wants to capitlise on it.

But sounds shonky anyway.

Defromat?

the style is [the art of the defromat]

We know about it, it aint secret.

I know of the closely guarded art of deformat though, its been passed on from technician to technician, used in times of peril to restore data to drives that were deemed doomed!

defromat isnt a word in the english language, maybe something else but i wouldnt know. seeing as how this guys meant to be a japanese-american with a japanese skill youd think it would have a japanese name. sounds like someones pulling your leg...

I'd even say it sounds like three month dead fish... "Defromat" is just gibberish without any meaning

Never fear, Potatoe !
It's from Japan; nothing wrong to have some fish in it.
On the other hand, I sense a distinct similarity to ... ??? ...
(later)

now thats funny, alright on a serious note, i've not found anything remote to "the art of the defromat" is it that low key?

Very secretive yes; it just wasn't for outsiders.

it could be true, there still many martial arts that are just low_key and kept to a select few, maybe this is one of them.
