Hey there.

I'm new here. I love the Japanese culture. My love for the Japanese culture started with anime. My first anime was Sailor Moon, then I started watching Dragon Ball Z.

Years later I met a girl who was really into manga. I never heard of manga until I met her. Then I fell in love with manga, she allowed me to borrow her manga Cardcaptor Sakura. She also listens to J-Pop. When I listened to J-Pop for the first time, I thought it sounded awesome. I forgot the band and the name of the song, tho.

Then, in the 11th grade was the first time I listened to J-Rock. I loved it, but again, I forget the name of the band. Then, I began to watch Death Note. I love the series and I love the music. My friend in high school told me that I could listen to the music on youtube. So, then I started listening to some Japanese songs on youtube.

Now, I'm really into the Japanese pop culture.

Welcome to the forum!

You will find many J-Rock lovers here. Have fun!

Nice avatar BTW. Whatever she/he/it is....

My avatar is Byou. Or now he's Byou from a band called ScReW.
When he took that picture, he was Toge from a band called JOKER.
Yeah. I'm a HUGE J-Rock lover. I LOVE SCREW SO MUCH.
SCREW is my favourite band. And I have a huge crush on Byou.

Nice to meet you too. I'm also kind of new here...

Well, it's nice to meet you, too
Wow! You are the first person I met from the states!
I'm from the states, too. I just noticed that.

Well as far as bands go, Base Ball Bear is my favorite (cool *** name).

but I crush on Kiyoe Yoshioka (ikimono gakari) she's dope.

I never heard of her.

Do you want to go to Japan someday? I do. I would LOVE to see some of my favourite bands in concert. esp. ScReW. I've heard that Byou does a lot of fan service.

Other bands I would like to see play is ONE OK ROCK, Maximum de Hormone, and Buck Tick. So, far at least.

Oh yeah I like the challenge of living in Japan, I hope to take it on as soon as I finish college

Have you lived in Japan before? You wrote I like the "challenge" of living in Japan.
I hope that when I get in the military to get assigned there or at least I assume that I could take one of my vacation days over there.

:hopes:

Personally, I'm not really into anime/manga or j-rock, however there are lots of people who like that kind of stuff here at jref.
Home fun!

Well it is a challenge... I mean if you haven't been there it's a much different place than anywhere in the states.

wow, you are planning to get in the military?

Yes. I'm already sworn in for the US Air Force.
It's nice to meet you.

@ Tomii515

Thank you for the warm welcome

@Erii77

I've never been to Japan. But I do know about the bowing and to take your shoes off when entering a place and to always say "Thank you." I'm hoping to make Japanese friends here, so that when I do go to Japan, maybe they could show me around and help me with the costums. But I've been reading about the customs, here, tho.

Hello and welcome, yinfire. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay at Jref. My one friend is in the Navy and he was stationed in Japan, 2+ years later, haven't seen him again. Not even on holidays. I like Gackt, Flow, and a lot of individual songs from animes and games like: G Gundam, .//hack, Outlaw Star, Bleach, and Inuyasha. Once again, welcome to the forum.

Sounds like your friend REALLY loved Japan.

Welcome to jref yinfire. Don't forget to check out the groups section of jref since we have a jrock and jpop group. ENJOY!
