Hey everyone!

I'm Michelle and I am new to the forums. I'm 19, but going to be 20 soon. 0.o

I took Japanese my senior year of high school and loved it. I haven't taken anymore classes since then, but I would really like to continue learning Japanese in the future. Maybe I can try teaching it to myself?

I want to learn more about Japan's history and culture. I signed up for a class on traditional Japan for the fall semester, but it got cancelled. Hopefully it will be offered next semester.

As for hobbies, I like reading, jogging, music, video games, movies, and tons of other stuff. I like learning new things too. I've never been to Japan before, but I really want to. I've heard so many great things from my friends who have been there before.

So, it's nice to meet all of you!

Teaching yourself is a great idea though if you dont have a means to take classes or just dont want to pressure of exams or stuff. The nihongo forums are a good place to ask questions about the language or if you need something clarified.
