Hello from San Fernando Valley.

Born and raised in Tokyo, but gave up my Japanese citizenship when I became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. a few years ago. I'm what you call a "shin issei."

Until about 3 years ago, I didn't get to go back to Japan for about 12 years. A true Urashima situation.

Considering relo back to Tokyo sometime in a near future (as in a year or so), as a gaijin formerly known as nihonjin. Doing lots of researches on visa, bringing pets into Japan, work, etc.

Maybe you can help me. Maybe I can help you.

TTYL!

A very warm welcome to you, NekoMama7

What an intriguing username - are you 'mother' to seven cats?! That is a lot!

Hope you spend a splendid time on this forum, and good luck with the pets, let us know how you get on!

Ahem...just seven.

Thanks for a warm welcome!

Welcome to the forum, NekoMama7. You'll have plenty of fun here. I know I do.

Hello and welcome, new person. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay at Jref.

Ahem...just seven.
Thanks for a warm welcome!

Just seven? It is not enough! lol

Actually, your situation is very interesting indeed. I wonder how you feel returning to your Mother country as a 'foreigner' and how immigration treat you...all sorts of questions really, as i've had many Japanese friends who stayed abroad for extended periods, but never any who gave up their nationality entirely...

forgive my curiosity if you don't wish to discuss these things, and once again welcome to Jref!
