窶堙坂?堋ｶ窶堙溪?堙懌?堋ｵ窶堙?、ﾅ?F窶堋ｳ窶堙ｱﾂ！(Nice to meet everyone.) I've been studying Japanese since Jan 2011. As far as online communities go, it's not something I'm very into, but this site looks like a quality resource for people to share an interest (Japan), so I signed up.
Basically, my exposure to Japan is by watching lots of anime via legit sites and DVD by mail, although I would not call myself an otaku. More of a language and art/music lover IMO. In other words, an extensive media collection, figurines, conventions, cosplay, etc are not things of particular interest. Sometimes I watch while ignoring the subtitles, just to expose myself to the language without the barrier of looking at English at the same time, and a lot of it is understandable. ^^ Other activities include cooking Japanese food (there's a large Japanese supermarket not too far away), listening to Japanese radio, and working my way through Japanese textbooks. Not to mention apps (dictionaries, etc).
Short bio: Catholic school K-12, then Bachelor's in Fine Art. Currently employed. Japan fan.
