I am 15 and new of course. I play piano, am captain of colorguard, and spend all my time being lonely. ^_^; I am in love with roses. I have a complete obsession with them. I could really go on and on about them but you don't want to hear it. Thats all you will probably ever know about me... So yeah.

Greetings from the Japan Alps, the roof of Japan !! It's so nice to have you as a new member in our great, big, happy (most of the time) world-wide family !!!:cracker: Post when you can, and try not to feel lonely here.

One of my good friends, a professor emeritus at Shinshu University (the prefectural university here) specializes in growing and developing roses. He has a great garden and every year tries so hard to get the perfect rose, but he admits, he has seldom got one in his experience--that's because he demands such high quality. I saw some and were amazed, the petal layout and overlay, the texture, and color saturation were fantastic, but to him, well...not quite there. Roses are hard to take care of , and do need some pampering, I wish you success in growing yours.

BTW the flower of England is a red and white rose.

Colorguard is the visual of marching band. We dance, twirl and spin rifels, flags, sabers, hoops, stuff like that.

Awesome, colorguard! I'm new here too and it seems everybody here's really nice and provides a great welcome, eh? Anyway yeah about colorguard- you're captain at 15? That's great; I did (and will do when I get back) drumline at my high school in the US, and all of us were really well acquanted with the colorguard, 'n supported them at all their competitions.

Well i grew up in England, we dont do things like American schools, so i dont have a clue what your on about? but it sounds fun, and its good to have fun.

That's why I asked the question. Thanks for your answer on colourguard.
You seemed surprised at the red and white rose of England. It was a merging of the symbols of the House of Lancaster and York after the War of the Roses. Lancaster symbol was a red rose and Yorkshire was a white rose. Henry VII merged them and started the Tudor period.

If im not mistaken theres a ship called "rose"? that had close links to the Queen.

You were a captain? Wow. This will be my first year. How do I get people to do what I want and still make them like me in band camp?

Oh. I thought you meant there were red and white mixed roses. Lol, but the history is a good thing also.

Erm naw I wasn't captain. I was just ON the drumline, and we were acquainted with and supported the cologuard. But to answer your question, I suggest being kinda tough in telling them what to do, but when somebody has a problem, just take them aside nicely and show them how to fix it. If anybody gives you lip just tell em that you're not really mean but you gotta be strict.

Waving hello, I am new here too. Do you grow roses in your garden? I have 2 roses that have found they can survive in my garden; the names are Heritage, a nice pink double-flowered critter, and La Belle Sultane, an old Rose type, red with a yellow center. See you around!
