I'm a 25 y.o. female. I started liking Japan (and classical music) after seeing 窶昶?吮?卍ｹ窶堙固津 (1981)
I studied Japanese for a little while in my early 20s and stopped again a few years ago when I got busy. I've recently picked it up again since I have some spare time due to an illness. As my avatar suggests I'd like to play FFXIV:ARR when it comes out, and maybe try to communicate with Japanese players. (Or maybe not; I have 0 confidence in my Japanese! Oh well, this is just a hobby anyway.)
I'm an early beginner, I have kana down, as well as a few common kanji. I'm finding I have to relearn some stuff, but it's coming back slowly. Glad to meet you all!
