Hi I wanted to know if anybody had taken a Hato Bus Tour of Tokyo? I am thinking of signing up for the tour and it's just a little bit expensive. I don't mind, but if you have taken their tours do you think that a 17 year old would enjoy it? I have seen all the places that they take us, but I have to entertain my niece, and I don't take the trains by myself, so it would be taxis which would end up being way more expensive. It's a whole day tour and you get lunch and a boat ride in the bay. I thought she would get a lot out of it. Or, if someone knows of a different company that they have used and liked that would be cool too! Thanks!

I think it's the best way for a first-time visitor to take a look at Tokyo in a day. In fact, there are Japanese locals (Tokyo residents) who take the tour to get to see what they don't see in everyday life (like climbing the Tokyo Tower, which some Tokyoites have never done and I've done only twice in my entire life!!).

Hato Bus is probably the best--other tours are essentially the same as Hato Bus.

Your niece can take a sweeping look into the city as a whole and then decide on which place she wants to visit again on her own or with you on another occasion!

Thank-You epigene very, very much! That sounds good, she can get a sweeping overall look and then we can pick and chose individual sites to go back and see more in depth! I am taking her to Yokohama, to eat at the chinese restaurant Tung Fat! I know you have fond memories of that place. I saved a pair of chopsticks from there and just found them in my suitcase. I can't wait!

Oh, Tung Fat!! :gohan:

I go to Yokohama once in a while but never get to eat there!

I just adore that place. I really like the food but I have to admit that I love the dessert. The fruits with some type of light coconut jello/pudding/yogurt (I'm not sure) and they put a lychee on top. That was the first time I had a lychee as well and now I am addicted. I hope my niece will enjoy it there as much as I do.
