The singer is very excellent, and the bass playing kicks ***.
Any other fans of Girugamesh here?

Whoo he looks really cool. Y'know, I don't even know what the members look like... except I remember one pic of a guy playing the guitar while wearing a horse's head... I doubt he really looks like that though... Do you have the link to the journal site?
 
Yay for reviving this thread! I thought about doing it myself, but figured it would be buried under the mainstream acts and/or better known indies bands! They are one of my favorite Jrock bands!

Mmm... yea I like girugamesh!!!

I figured the same that it would be buried quickly like all the other not so popular bands... it's a shame cause alot of good bands get ignored and forgotten. Like for instance Galneryus... ah well I guess that's due to lack of both info and extremely good looks. *le sigh* XDDD Which reminds me I should dig up the Lucy thread and upload some stuff... he got forgotten quick. -_-;;;

I really liked them before but lately I've been listening to them a bit more since Norm posted a pic in I think it was the death thread and she asked me if I had their music and I started listening again... I suppose I should thank you for reminding me of them... so thanks. haha!

A video came with their new single. You can watch it here. It's about 3 minutes long and only shows their discography with some song samples, some live clips, and pictures at the end. It's good for people who haven't heard girugamesh before.

Why does the spelling of their name bother you? Because people romanize it to Gilgamesh? There was already a band from the 70's with the name Gilgamesh. The Romanji is actually girugamesshu. I don't even know if the band is using katakana anymore since it says girugamesh. on their official site.
 
I know why they spell it like that (with the 70s band and whatnot), but the ru still bothers me, I dunno. It seems like if they were going to just spell it they'd spell it Girugamesshu or Girugamesshyu, but I guess that looks ugly. I don't have a real reason, the ru just bothers me. After seeing the band actually spelling it that way (on the OHP), though, I've come to accept the spelling I guess. Haha, I don't know if that post made any sense.
 
I couldn't care less if their name was flying pig penis butt muncher 2000 (don't ask) their music is freakin awesome!!! I love the horse mask video, it's one of the funniest things ever.
 
That's funny! umm, I've always thought of it as Girugamesh, probably because that's how I first saw it, and it bothers me to see it spelled Gilgamesh.. but that's just me.
