fun at nights

Hi there!

As next month I'm going to Japan for 2 weeks I was wondering what a foreigner on his own and with basic Japanese knowledge, can do during evenings and nights? Considering that I don't like discos and disco pubs.

Please give me alternatives

And then what is the attitude toward single traveller?

Depending on where you are (city, area) and where you are staying, you could go to the cinema, go to bars, go up a skyscraper for the night view (e.g. Tocho in Shinjuku), use the Internet in your hotel to let your family, friends and JREF members know about your experiences in Japan...

I'm going to spend some time in Tokyo for sure Still at the planning bit of my journey, but I will also visit, Nagoya but there I have a Friend, Osaka, Kyoto, these are the main parts I want to see.

I am sure you can find a companion. Provided you have enough money to pay for it.

erm.. what about non professional companion but normal people?

For Instance, when I went in Oban (west of Scotland) I was in a pub and I had no problem to make some friends, here in Edinburgh is a bit harder.

My comment does also apply to "non-professional" companions. Suppose you meet someone at a coffee shop or bar. You're probably going to be spending money entertaining them, won't you?

Things to do: There's also bowling alleys, pachinko parlors, boat cruises and Tokyo Tower.

If you stay at a hostel, you are going to meet many companions, and inevitably - someone is going to recommend something to do. Be prepared to kareoke. Yes, you have it in your area - but people will want to do it Japan style.
