Hello
I am visiting Japan for the first time from November 27th to December 8th and was wondering if there are any football (soccer) games on in the Tokyo area during this time. I think I have missed the regular season and I think there is a World Club (or similar) competition after I leave, but if anyone knows of any friendlies or other games I havent found, I would be grateful for any information.
Cheers MH

Unfortunately "FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2006 presented by TOYOTA" is started on December 10.

Especially Urawa vs Gamba will be the one to watch. Urawa is #1, Gamba is #2.. Gamba was also the champions of last season I believe.

Thanks, do any of them play in Blue?

also is there anywhere that shows English Premier games in Tokyo?
I support Portsmouth and want to see thier games against Liverpool on Wed 29th November and thier game against Aston Villa on Saturday 2nd December
Thanks

Urawa is red.. Gamba I wouldn't know, I don't really follow J-League Soccer.

I'm not sure if there's a place where you can watch Premier League games. A friend of mine in Tokyo has pay-tv on which he can receive most of the games I believe. So there just might be a "pub" in which they show it.. But on the other hand, I have never seen a "pub" yet in Japan.

So.. Well, sorry I couldn't be of real help.

thanks for all your help!

i am having trouble finding ticket prices on those web sites, where am i going wrong?

When it is an online reservation, a receipt method of a ticket is difficult.
For a way,
For example, I contact a hotel beforehand and have a hotel receive a ticket.
(When you receive a ticket by an online reservation,
The postage is 600 yen, extra need.)
When you purchase a ticket in Japan.
You can purchase it in a convenience store.

Thank you both for your help, i think i will try to buy tickets when i get to Japan.

Buying tickets in a convenience store is brilliant, we cannot do that here.

Hi there, just got back from Japan (which was great, by the way).

Thanks to you all for the information, The helpful receptionist at the hotel came with me to the 7-11 and got me the tickets I needed for a game.

I saw Jef Utd get beaten 2-0 by Yokohama Marinos (which was cool as Yokohama play in similar kits to Portsmouth, my team in the UK). The atmosphere was amazing. I will put a link on here soon if anyone wants to see some pictures and video footage.

Thanks again MH

It was good.
Today,
My local soccer team,AVISPA Fukuoka was demoted from J1.

I can't post URLs but if you go to

look for the Jef Utd vs Yokohama Marinos video, it will be on the front page for a while or on the PGTV link.
thanks for all your help I wouldn't have got there without you
