Oh, where in HR are your roots? Last night, my cousin's overjoyed wife contacted me right after the game. She's from Croatia. I wish them all the best against Brazil.

Overall, a terrific effort by the Samurai Blue; they've come a long way! I hope they will use the next four years to work on their penalty kicks.

Apparently, the boys played very well. Sad that I am to see such a deserving team get knocked out on penalties, I couldn't help laughing at the reporting by NHK this morning. During the 20 minutes of close-ups of teary fans, etc., that I saw, they did not once show the penalty shootout itself, arguably the most important part of the match, such is their desire to cheerlead for Japan rather than report facts!
