I'm anxiously waiting for April to come so I can take my bag and move to Japan. But there is still a couple of things that's bothering me. For instance will i be able to find any cloths that fit's me after all I'm 195 cm (6:5 inch) slim guy with broad shoulders. And I were since 47 (us 12) shoes. It's not like i can bring my whole wardrobe with me, if I'm lucky i can bring 2 bags with a weight limit.
So I'm just wondering if it is possible for me to find decent cloths at these sizes.
I wont be living in Tokyo but a trip there once in a wile would be worth the hassle of getting some new cloths.
If i could get some names stores or chains with these kinds of services it would be great.

I'm not sure about the clothes, but I wear size 13 US shoes, and I can find them. There's not much of a selection, but at least there's some.

Ummm... you're screwed. You're even bigger than me (188 cm, but size 12.5 shoes). There's a few western shops in Tokyo that should have something you can wear (The Gap, Zara) but there's very little else, unfortunately.

I had to buy a some tennis shoes once. I went to a large shoe store, and said "show me everything in my size". They brought out 4 pair.

I was in some fashionable department store (Banana Republic equivalent I guess) and I tried to try on a blazer. The length was fine, but it was like trying to wear a woman's jacket. Having broad shoulders is rough for anything beyond T-shirts and sweaters, I suggest you pack accordingly.

As for shoes, I didn't see too much in the way of selection for myself, and I wear an 11/11.5

Depending on how long you intend to stay, you might wish to prepare a few packages to mail to yourself in Japan. A package with summer clothes and another with winter clothes, for example. Of course, you probably don't know what your mailing address will be now, but by the time you need the packages, you will know the address. Just leave the packages with a friend or relative and ask them to address them and post them for you.

As far as shoes go, I wear US size 11 (29cm). Most Japanese stores only carry men's shoes up to size 27.5cm. Anything larger can be very difficult to find and the selection is very small.

appreciate all the answers guys, I'm gonna have to pack a couple of cloth's packages then and shop for cloths ones a year when I'm home visiting.
I'm at least gonna be there for 2 years but probably for another 3-5 years after the language school too.
I think ill take my chances with bathroom slippers and running shoes though, because they weigh to much and if i can't find Any i guys i just wont go running ^^ and go barefoot into my bathroom.

Almost anything can be bought online and shipped to Japan. LLBean, Eddie Bauer, Lands End and Eastbay will all happily ship to Japan and the postage rates are not unreasonable.

It'll take a while before you 'know' your correct size.

Shoes I guess are the one thing though that you want to try on - so take several pairs with you. Shoes always get clobbered with Japanese import tax when I buy them online. Jeans and shirts from Eddie Bauer not so much.

the problem with bringing shoes when I'm traveling there is that I will probably fly with air France witch means 20kg of luggage, but thanks for the tips about ordering cloths
