Dominique Strauss-Kahn who was the manager of the IMFis a very in brilliant man and of course alas also a womanizer.
Many tourists fly to New York, don't want to miss this sex scandal for it has become a touristic attraction.

If Dominique Strauss-Kahn is found guilty, he will get 30 years prison. He was a very, very naughty boy and he is a Frenchman. It sounds like a sick joke.
Americans may never be adjudged outside the U.S.A. But this Frenchman may be adjudged in America?

Maybe this sex-story is created to get the attention of Osama bin Laden's death and his funeral?

I just hope that some of you will react and of course you may tell me that I see it all wrong.

But I find this a more than strange story.
I remember the stories of two American Presidents who were (let's say)oversexed they never got 30 years prison? I think that this man is already punished. This is really loosing face for such a brillant man.
I guess that women are far better protected in America than elsewhere in the world
The next IFM manager will be a woman. French again!

"French guy New York tourist magnet." Well that is my point, this is disgusting it is not a professional approach. Whatever he has done ( we don't know the truth yet) he has been used as a publick attraction.
I didn't open this thread to blame the victim. No I hope that most of you will see what I see. The Judge will give his verdict and then so be it.

But nobody has the right to insult and make D.S-K ( that French guy) look so ridiculous. One must always take the honourable way out. One should stand far above all that silly infantile behaviour.
Many peoples look up at the U.S.A. my country too. But we transport criminals in blinded cars to prisons or elsewhere. No public attraction, that was my point.

Meh, its just the usual media sensationalism- they'll say whatever they can get away with to make attention grabbing stories. You'd be shocked at how much stuff they print which is even complete and utter BS! I wouldn't take it personally- next week or tomorrow it'll just be someone else. In fact if you hadn't have posted that news websites link, i would have never even known about DSK being a temporary tourist attraction (and i've read a fair few news articles on him).
 
This was not mere adultery, but SEXUAL ASSAULT. The hotel maid claims that DSK forcibly held her against her will and forced her to perform oral sex.

Why should a guy be immune from prosecution for SEXUAL ASSAULT just because he's a big shot? If the charges are true, he hasn't paid for his crime until he's served prison time.

Incidentally, while the French press are howling about poor DSK being photographed on his perp walk, the same French press are publishing the name and background of the alleged victim.
 
I guess he should have kept it in his pants. He is being put to trial for raping a maid, be it alleged or true. He is not being sent off to some gulag or put to death! Let's not cry over the small details. He is going to get a fair trial. He either did or didn't rape this maid. That's all there is to it.

EDIT: Oh wait, sorry. I misconstrued the purpose of this thread. GOD! STUPID AMERICANS AND ALL THEIR DEVILRY! THIS IS CLEARLY AN ACT OF WAR AGAINST FRANCE. LE SIGH.
 
I do understand that the French are upset at photos of DSK being led away in handcuffs. Their argument is that this prejudices the public (from which the jury will be picked) against the defendant.

I see this point's validity, but a law banning publication of such photos wouldn't be constitutional in the US. I don't know of any reason why police departments are required to parade defendants around this way, however. I think law enforcement and prosecutors DO hope to prejudice jurors in this way, and do meet with some success, probably.

Still, imho, the seriousness of this criticism pales in comparison with the seriousness of the alleged crime.

Yes I know that there is a sort of a war between America and France. Not a dangerous one but at times unpleasant.
DSK was not only the IFM manager he was also a candidate of becoming the next French President of France. And he is a Socialist.
I guess Thor that DSK was much more than just a dirty, naughty Frenchman.
I never underestimated the American gouvernements. The Americans in the street are just as nice or not nice as all the other peoples anywhere else in the world.

Which sounds more plausible?

A massive government conspiracy to marginalize a the head of the IMF and a French official....

OR

a known womanizer wanted to play out his maid fantasy on an unwilling victim?

Personally I really think that the first one is implausible, and the second one is more likely.
 
Whatever the answer will be, the Euro has dropped. Greece is in a dramatic trouble and so a are Portugal and Ireland.
DSK was a briliant manager at the IFM and at the same time he was stupid!

I guess that we will never know what really happened in that hotelroom.
But there is just one thing I can't follow. The roommaid comes into the room and DSK comes naked out of the bathroom. If I was that girl then I would have left the room without hesitation and I would have said:"Oh sorry sir, I didn't know you are still here". Was he at 62 so much faster than the girl of 32?
Did she close the door behind her when she came to clean the room? Why?
Did she scream for help? I would have screamed before he had a chance to touch me.
Next time , when she comes back to work in the hotel she better takes a pepperspray with her.

You know what i'm gonna put myself on the line here and say i actually agree with Elizabeth on this one. I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist drawn person, but there is some very alterior motive stuff going on with Libya.

Moral crusade in Libya? My a$$!
(Something stinks of Iraq war here, which i have no doubt was a farce...)
