Hello all;

So earlier I was thinking about sakura trees and, due to reference of some similar sentence structures I've drawn this up:
さくらはかわいいツリーです, which I translated from Sakura (Cherry Blossom) is a cute tree.
So on to the question, does this translation sound natural where it said by a native?

Why do you use ツリー instead of 木?

Ah, see I knew there was something wrong there.
So, 木 (ki) = the correct translation of tree, the resulting sentence would be さくらはかわいい木です?

You can also say さくらの木はかわいいです.

So the new ugly broadcast tower in Tokyo should be 空木?

There's no problem about スカイツリー or クリスマスツリー, but I can't accept 桜ツリー.
BTW, I read it からき i.e. "empty tree" when I saw 空木.

I have trouble with a ツリー without 枝. I would have named it 目障り塔 or 目の毒タワー or スカイライン・キラー
