how do you say, "Did you sleep well?" or "Did you get a good night's sleep?" in Japanese??

Considering that the OP is female, I'd add feminine version.

よく眠れましたか？ yoku nemure mashita ka? (polite)
よく眠れた？ yoku nemureta? (casual)

As a girl, adding か sounds unnecessarily harsh from anyone. I would feel like I were being interrogated or even yelled at if someone dared talk to me that way.

You also have to remember that the girls down here in the kansai region are pretty harsh. Some would definately use this kind of language, that being said, I did not even check if the OP was a girl, my bad!

I rarely hear women down here say "かしら" , but I have heard it quite a lot in the kantou region. You have to remember that Kansai ben can come across pretty harsh to you guys from Kantou.

Where is it that you studied Elisabeth? And Undrentide are you from the northen region of Japan? I get the feeling that your are and Elizabeth too.

I think it really depends. If you compare
よく眠れたか sounds very harsh if used by female, while
よく眠れましたか sounds quite normal and just polite, there's no hint of harshness.

Though my parents are both from North (Aomori and Hokkaido), I was born and brought up and am still living in Tokyo, Dave.
Many of my colleagues are from Kansai area, also I have daily contact with customers in Kansai, so it is interesting for me to see the differences in intonation and some different usage (especially ending of phrases/sentences) between Kansai ben and Kantou ben.

While some ways of speech by males from Kansai may sound a bit harsh, generally I find intonation of Kansai ben sounds softer and milder to my ears. I cannot use it myself, but I like it.

Yes, kansai ben can come across to be very friendly sometimes. Kansai ben is all I know really, I have not a clue as to what 標準語 is so don't go there! LOL

I deal with business men from kantou and they are all so polite it is incredible.

Yes, it was in response to Dave. Sorry, that should have been clearer. I was only speaking of the former. So よく眠れたか is no problem anywhere in Japan from men to women ? It's more effort to add the か and for no good purpose but to sound hypermasculine, so I'm still suspicious...

Original Osakaite friends of mine too are always going on about their love for 暖かい関西弁。Whatever that is sounds great, I just have a feeling it doesn't cover everything...or maybe close to all of what you can really hear down there...

Oh, I see.
よく眠れたか from men to women is OK if it is between close friends or more, or the man is older (or higher in position), but as you mentioned it does sound hypermasculine and may not be welcomed in every situation for sure...
よく眠れた？ would be far better if one wants to be on the safe side.

I can understand your friends' sentiment, and I guess most people have attachment for their local language (I mean dialect), because it is their first language and most suitable for them to express themselves, while 共通語（標準語） is the language they speak only at school/work and somewhat foreign.

@undrentide, yes that pretty much what it means, and can also be loosley translated as "I am going home..."

Ha,Ha,Ha... I work with the elderly and yes it is mainly used by them. However every now and again you get younger people saying this, like me.
