Hello Everyone,

I've downloaded the trials for Declan's Japanese bundle, and I really like it.
It seems kind of difficult to use, but I'm sure I can get used to it.
Has anyone used it before? How was it?

It seems that it isn't so much on grammar or building sentences, but in terms of repetition, kana and kanji, it seems useful. I'm the kind of person that enjoys doing daily exercises and very much thrives on repetition to learn. In terms of conversation and grammar, I'd love some recommendations, as at the moment I'm going from visual media (anime, movies, tv etc, which I'm guessing is a little distorted, just like most people don't actually talk like they do in English films).

Reading around, it seems grammar textbooks are the way to go?

Thanks
Demi

I can't comment on the Declan software, but if you're looking for textbooks, I can give some recommendations.

When you say "grammar textbooks", do you mean reference type books (organized alphabetically or by grammatical structure), or literal textbooks, which explain grammar a little bit at a time, along with example conversations, sample readings, and so on.

Also, give me an idea of your level - can you read Hiragana and Katakana? Kanji? Can you use desu-masu form and basic particles? All basic verb conjugations? More advanced, less?
