I haven't been that active for that long here yet since coming back to the forum, but one thing i have noticed that confuzes me, is that when i log in onto the forum, sometimes i just get randomly logged out of it again later on. Sometimes this is 5minutes later, sometimes i can stay active for much longer without getting logged out, but its annoying when i've typed out a really long reply to a thread and am just about to post it, only to find that the forum has yet again logged me off.

Is there anything i can do to stop this? Has anyone else experience this problem here...?

I cannot say that much about that because I only came out of my cave not that long ago...and being a caveman, am quite in the unknow on some of these finer details.

Now, what I can say, however, is that here on my PC at the house, that does happen to me from time to time. (never on the PC at school...a much better machine, at that) One thing that helps me, it seems--not that I have used it that much, actually, is to keep to pages on the browser--as one might do when waiting in CHAT--and while writing a long post, click up the other waiting page (whatever it might be) and click on something, then put it back on the tab (is that how you say that?) and go on with writing.

But I suspect that you are talking about something a little different, because I have a funny feeling that 'not being on line' and being 'logged off' are two different animals.

Please wait, and some one who is well into the Iron Age will come along and help. Sorry !! MM

It happened to me only once in three years and that was last week. One thing to be certain is to make sure you always check the "Remember me" box as that should keep you logged in even if you go to another website. Also if you never log off and turn off your computer and then come back on in a few days, when you go to Jref you will be automatically be logged in. That is if you didn't clear all your cookies from your browser.

For most members........................................... ....

checking the "remember me" box solves the problem. Hope it will work for you.
