Conversation about fortune-teller

Hi... sorry, a lot of questions about this small conversation....

The man has mentioned that he visited a fortune-teller:

女： へえ、それでどうだったの？
男： それがね・・・
女： 何？教えてよ。悪いことだったの？
男： １年以内に結婚できるだろうって言われたんだ。
女： いい話じゃない？
男： うん。でもね、遠くにいる人と結婚することになりそうだって言われたんだ。

My partial translation:

W: Really? So how was it?
M: ???
W: What? Tell me. Was it something bad?
M: I was told that I'd marry within a year.
W: Is that good? (lit. is that a good story)
M: Yeah. ???, I was told I'd marry someone who's far away.

A few things I'm not exactly sure of:

a) In the first line, is it reasonable to translate それで as "so"?

b) What does それがね・・・ mean?

c) I always get confused about the nuance of じゃない. When she asks いい話じゃない？, is she expecting the answer to be "yes", or is she expecting it to be "no", or is the question neutral?

d) What does うん。でもね... mean? Is it something like "Yes ... well .... but..."?

The conversation continues:

女： へえ。遠くにいる人ね。国際結婚かもしれないわね。
男： あのう、道子さん今年はどこか遠くへ行く予定はない。引っ越しはしない？
女： 引っ越しなんてしないわよ。
男： そうか。やっぱり違うのかな・・・。占いが当たらないといいなあ。

At this point I am getting confused about who is the subject of the verbs. This is my attempt:

W: Really. Someone far away. Perhaps it's an international marriage.
M: Well, Michiko, you're not planning to go anywhere far away this year? Not moving house?
W: No, I'm not moving house or anything like that.
M: Right. I wonder if it (i.e. the fortune-teller's prediction) was a mistake. It would be good if the fortune teller was wrong.

e) Have I got the basic idea of this right -- that 道子 is the name of the woman in the conversation, that the man entertains hopes of marrying her, and that she (probably) isn't very interested? I fear I might have it all the wrong way round...

f) I don't understand whether あのう、道子さん今年はどこか遠くへ行く予定はない is a question or a statement.

g) I don't understand the nuance of やっぱり...かな. I thought やっぱり expresses that things are as expected, yet かな expresses doubt, so I don't know how the two combine.

She has a doubt that he might be less pleased with the prediction, so she says something like "Don't you think that is a good story?"

Only the last guess might be wrong. I think she is not aware how he feels (about her).

やっぱり acts the main roll. I have a little doubt/hope but things would be as expected at last...

By the way, 違うのかな would express not that the prediction is a mistake but that Michiko is not the person in the prediction.
