bright lights & flashy things

I`ve not long ben livin here in japan, just a few months & Ive been on jref for even a shorter period of time, not so much like a rabbit in head lights anymore but...

actually theres not many neons & video walls are unheard of in my little part of japan, we cheer any passing headlights whilst we stare round here, which happens to be up in the hills of nagano prefectrure.

pretty place which reminds me of back home in the English lake district, nice hills to look at but naff all else to do. I decided to stop just lookin & start runnin... up the mountains.

So when Im not challenging the local mountain tengu Im practicing taichi. Havin spent 4 years in china the decline of my chinese is inevitable but at least I can keep up the pretense of practicing my tai chi in the vain hope that that too isnt fading into the night.


well thats quite enough of me 4 now!

Just slightly more than a stone's throw, it is, yet not so far that I couldn't see the light reflected off low hanging rain clouds on a night like tonight.

This time, it's no 'welcome from the Japan Alps' for me, because you are in them. No greetings from the roof of Japan, because you are up here on it with me!

So, I'll say 'GREETINGS' from your neighbor just over the hill and down the road a piece, over here in Shiga. (used to be Shigamura, but is now a part of Matsumoto)

I hope you stick around for a while and enjoy as much of the forum as you can. There are many things to check out, and a lot of sharing and learning to do. I look forward to hearing from you some fine day !!

I had a very small, and first, JREF MEET here at my house back in early April, and will do so again. For you, it'd be easy to get here and enjoy a great evening of BBQ, beer, and good times--we played darts almost all night....
