I'm in the process of applying for a U. S. passport. My mother was Japanese (deceased), and my father was an American serviceman killed in the Korean War. I was adopted by military parents, both of whom are deceased. I am applying for a copy of my naturalization records, but I would like to know how to get a copy of my birth certificate. I was born in Fukuoka in 1951, and know the names of my birth mother and father and little else (aside from photographs, and an adoption announcement clipped from a Japanese paper.) If anyone could direct me to the proper agency in Japan, I would be very grateful.

I Think....

the US Consulate in Fukuoka has a web site. There are several sites on Google for Fukuoka, might find something there? I'm sure you will get more helpful info
from other members, it may take a bit, but someone will probably know what to do.Good luck!!
