Due to some recent events i will be getting monthly payments of 5000 pounds into my back account. Due to this im shooting my trip up to halfway through this summer.

Questions
How long can i go without a permanent visa, i hear 6 months?

Is there any way to have money taken from my bank account and sent to me? Any methods are alright with me, apart from the obvious posting of them out to me.

Congrats on your good fortune!

You can stay up to 90 days in Japan (with presentation of a UK passport and onward or return ticket) and extend it for another 90 days.

If you are expecting monthly payments into your account, I think the best choice is to set up an account with Citibank. You can check your account and withdraw from any Citibank branch around the world, although their offices and ATMs are found in major cities only. (Also, minimum deposit is required for maintaining such an account.) I think a lot of international businessmen and veteran travelers do that.

If Citibank is not your choice, you should check whether your bank has affiliations with Japanese banks and can offer identical service.

Yes, Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ is another choice. If you can set up an account with them in the UK, you can withdraw at the bank's ATMs in Japan. You can avoid the high handling fee if you avoid withdrawing at convenience stores.

My kids have international accounts with the bank. We deposit money in their accounts in Japan, and withdrawals can be made at ATMs in the US in US dollars, in our case. (Please note also that a per-day withdrawal limit has been imposed recently as a crime prevention measure.)

What kind of events result in £5,000 monthly deposits???
