I once read that there are more ninja today outside Japan than ever existed in total inside Japan.

It is one of those made-up facts so thoroughly plausible I am willing to accept it without question.

Precisely the point the person I referenced was trying to make. At least that's how I took it at the time.

Anybody who will tell you they're a ninja is pretty much by definition most definitely not a ninja.
