Airlines in Visa Application

When I filled out my visa application (work visa), I wrote down JAL for the airlines for my arrival in Japan. I just checked the prices for air tickets and could get UAL or NW for much cheaper. If I fly in with airlines other than JAL, would I run into trouble when I go through immigration? Your feedback is appreciated.

I don't think you'll have any problem at all. In the unlikely event that someone asks you about it, just tell them the truth.

I also called an office of the Japanese Consulate and they said it would be fine. And it was all fine when I arrived in Japan.
