Hi there,

I just posted a thread about a trip to Japan; this is just a quick additional question. We've just come across a problem; we're both 18, and the site we were looking at (expedia) said adult was 19+. When I looked on some booking forms of the hotels themselves they did not say what age is 'adult', and what is 'child'. Can someone help clarify what age I need to be to be unaccompanied in a hotel in Japan?

Thanks in advance

Nobody ever asked me my age when booking a hotel in Japan except on the reservation form. You may want to check the hotel's FAQ (if they have one) to see if they have an age requirement.

Book as an adult, but you shouldn't have any issues if you are about 18.
