A simple question about superlatives.

I just stared studying both comparatives and superlatives and came across an excerise where I have to ask who is the one that "eats the most"(or at least thats what i understood from the cues that were given to me)

The cues are "クラス／たくさん 食べる" and according to structure taught (using "の中で" and "一番") the final sentence should be:

クラスの中で誰が一番たくさん食べますか

However I feel this is not correct, or at least sounds awful mostly because of the "一番たくさん" part that sounds a bit redundant to me, so I was hoping someone could help me with this topic.

Your sentence is correct and there is no problem with 一番たくさん. You can also say クラスの中で一番たくさん食べるのは誰ですか. (The structure "who is the one that eats the most" would suggest that this is the one you are supposed to make.)

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to reply.
Sometimes I find certain japanese constructions a bit awkward because they defy spanish(which is my first language) and,sometimes, english grammar structures. Anyway let me take this opportunity to ask a second question:

If クラスの中で一番たくさん食べるのは誰ですか is the most accurate way of asking "who is the one that eats the most in the class?", what would クラスの中で誰が一番たくさん食べますか actually translate to? "in the class, who is the one that eats the most?"?

Who does eat the most in the class?

Note that I'm talking about the grammatical structure of the sentence, and not
the most accurate way of asking it.
