A question about the different uses of たりする

Hello everyone

I understand a few uses of this grammar such as

1. When you list things you did/will do in no specific order
この間、テレビを見たり、日本語を勉強したり、スカイプで友達と話したりしました。

2.Sometimes A, Sometimes B
学校の給食は、美味しかったり美味しくなかったりします。

I wanted to know how it's used here

何かタイプすると、間違った事を言ったり書いたりする恐怖があります。 As this doesn't seem like like a list of things I will/did but a list of examples. So I really want to know why it's used here and if it's one of several uses of this grammar pattern I don't know about it

It's the same as #1; listing actions/states.
As for #2, the two actions/states must be opposite in meaning in this usage, as in 美味しい vs. 美味しくない in your example.
By the way, 何かタイプすると、間違った事を言ったり書いたりする恐怖があります。 sounds rather awkward without とにかく最近、lang-8で as in the original. (The original itself is still awkward even with that phrase, though.)

Out of curiosity what would make it less awkward?

タイプする and 恐怖がある have a problem, but other than these, the expression "saying or writing on Language-8" connotes the awkwardness in the first place.
