OMG that one of Daisuke is just...
HAH! my friend P sits next to me in math and always stares at my binder (which is COVERED in Daisuke pictures, of course) and always has a slightly disturbed look on his face. (the pic of Aya-chan on my bio binder just about sent him over the edge...) so he wrote in my yearbook, 'i'm sorry i'm not japanese, and i'm sorry i don't dress like i woman, but you're still awesome and i still love you. -P'
PK: my friend C and i were watching the Macabre DVD at her house, and we had just been discussing the differences between people like us and here cheerleader younger sister, J, when J walked in the room. she was like, 'what about me?' and we said, 'oh, nothing, we were just discussing how normal you are...' when Kyo-kun started spitting up blood. C and i were both like 'OMFG THAT'S AWESOOOOOOOME!!' and J looked up and goes 'OMFG THAT'S DISGUSTING!!' she couldn't figure out why we were laughing so hard...
My mom will let me listen to my music around the house. like when i'm doing art homework, i'll have diru playing. or one time she let me bring miyavi in the same room as she was in and listen to it while i was working. but she'll tell me to turn it off. i was doing art homework once and i was listening to GAUZE, and she made me turn of ZAN because 'IS THAT GUY PUKING OR DIEING, BECAUSE WHATEVER IT IS, IT'S SURE NOT MUSIC!!' or she hates when i listen to the piano Jealous version (although i admit, that song is not kyo at his best, but shinya's piano is pretty.) she refuses to listen to iut in the car though. my mom likes all the American music i listen to, because we listen to the same bands like Papa Roach, Green Day, the Used, etc. (my mom's pretty cool iin that sense...) but she HATES my foreign music because she doesn't know what they're saying. i'll put on something, and she'll say, 'is this Japanese??' or 'is this the shims?? (she + him = shim. my art teacher made it up...)' or 'is this your Jrock??'. one time i put in a CD in andd played the song 'Dragosti dintae' by O-zone, and she asked ' is this some of your japanese music??' i was like, "what, mom, it's romainian techno!!" she got all offended and said something to the affect of 'well how am i supposed to be able to tell the difference!?'
my mom's funny, though. we'll be walking down the street and will walk by some asian couple or something that's speaking some foreign language, and she'll say 'oh there's some Japanese for you!!' i'll be like, 'mom. they're chinese. that is NOT japanese.' and she'll get all huffy and be like, 'you shouldn't be so arrogant sa to think you can tell the difference between the two!! how do you even know what chinese sounds like, huh??' i was like, 'well, let's see...hmm, first, my boyfriend is from Beijing. second, my best friend is from Hangzhou. third, i listen to japanese music EVERYDAY. fourth, i own a couple chinese cds, as well. fifth, i've self-studied BOTH japanese and chinese. sixth...' by the end she was like '...well i still say they sound the same.'
it's terrible how people do that though. we recently got a kid in my PE class who JUST moved from Beijing, so he doesn't know much english. he'd be talking to the only other chinese-speaking kid in the class, and some person would say something like, 'wow, teach me japanese!!' my friend N and i (she likes anime, too, so shes the same as me) both almost shouted 'IT'S NOT JAPANESE, YOU *****!!' it's sad how few peopl can tell them apart, even though they're so different. you'd think people would take the time to listen, but i guess not.
BTW, i kinda made my mom sound evil in this post, but she's not. my mom's actually really cool, and i lover her, she just doesn't like jrock. but she is really open minded, just a bit linguisticly-challenged. i love her anyway, though. X3
