I think I will stop putting up pictures of people (mostly hot japanese guys..) as my msn avatar.
It has happened several times, that people take them for me!!
First, I had a picture of great hide-sama, when this guy I've known for like 3 years starts a conversation.

"AAAAAAH COOOOL! You've finally dyed your hair! Or is it an old pic? =D"
- Ehm.. that's not me.
"What? It's not..?"

I don't know.. if I should be flattered he thought hide-sama was me.. or offended that he after 3 years still doesn't remember how I look! :?

Though, my grandmother takes the price! And she's not even that old (57 years) ..
I was laughing at the thing that happened before, and then I called for her to look and I said;

"Haha, that guy thought it was me on that picture!"
and then she takes a closer look on the picture, and then on me..
"Isn't it you on the pic..? I thought so... "

I mean, come on ;_; They're offending hide..

And just a few minutes ago, I had a picture of miyavi as my avatar. And then an old classmate, that I went to school with every day for 4 years, starts a conversation.

"Is it you on the pic?!"
- .... what do you think? ..
"OMG JENNY! You've got like SO HOT!"

People don't remember my face...

That's kind of funny and annoying at the same time. Personally, I never use pics of me as my msn display pic. Hey, someone once thought my current j-ref avatar was me! I only wish I had such a cool hairstyle. *wistful look*

For a number of times, people had mistaken me for a guy. I was talking on msn for the longest time with this French guy, and all of a sudden he was like "Are you a girl?" (I forget the reason.)!!! Actually that bothers me not at all; somehow I like that people were chatting with me because of "me", not anything related to how I am physically. Ehhh, that sounds a little odd, but I think you know what I mean.

It's kind of offending that people don't recognise you when they know you really, though. But on the other hand, people change a lot... change their hair colour/style, change the way they do their makeup... And of course, people look so different on photos, and you could have photoshopped it to make yourself looked more "VK" (hehe), so I guess people just assumed it was you even if they thought "She's waaaay changed!!"

Well, yeah! You laugh like hell in the same minute it happens.. and then you get like.. "but.. I really don't look like that... how can they think that is me?" :?
And then you get a little narcissistic "Am I really that hot.. "
Though, they should know how I look by now.. ☝
I don't really change that much.. Though I can look very different from picture to picture..

And I wish I really had some of the guys looks
Not all, but some parts of them.. like.. Miyavis mouth! It's so damn cute.. especially when he smiles
And the hairstyles! Clothes.. material stuff you know..

I understand what you mean, and I think I have to agree. Though, it's nice to know people appreciate your looks too

And granny.. what can I say.. she's out of rescue..
