Tourism 1999 Japanese disaster prophecy triggers tourist cancellations from HK

Tatsuki's book describes the author's experiences of prophetic dreams, and the outer casing of the book reads, "The real disaster will come in July 2025." The manga contains passages like, "I dreamed of a great disaster. The waters of the Pacific Ocean south of the Japanese archipelago will rise." Initially published in 1999 by a now-disbanded publisher and out of print, the book was reedited with new elements and published by Asuka Shinsha. According to the publisher, the book is currently a big hit, selling over 960,000 copies in total, and has also been published in Hong Kong and elsewhere. One reason the original book attracted so much attention was the warnings of a major disaster to strike in March 2011 printed on the front cover. Around 2020, the book was featured on TV shows and online video sites, and used copies began selling online for hundreds to thousands of dollars. Following those developments, Asuka Shinsha reportedly tapped Tatsuki to publish the new edition.

Ryo Tatsuki has a remarkable history of accurate predictions that span several significant events. This prediction drew significant attention during the COVID-19 pandemic, although Ryo later acknowledged that her timeline was inaccurate.

Though scientists say the exact timing of earthquakes can't be predicted, airline bookings from Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong have dropped since April — with bookings from the latter plunging by an average of 50% versus a year ago, according to a Bloomberg Intelligence analysis of ForwardKeys data. Weekly arrival bookings for late June to early July from the Asian financial hub have also nosedived by as much as 83%. Greater Bay Airlines and Hong Kong Airlines have both scaled back some flights to Japan this month as officials implore the general public not to give stock to the rumors.

That was a serious disaster movie. In another thread I posted the trailer to a spoof movie based off of this one. That movie's name was "Sinking of the World Except Japan" 日本以外全部沈没」.
