Travel Japan’s longest local bus route: Yagi - Shingu

The Sankei Shimbun reported on Japan's longest local bus route: from Yamatoyagi Station in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, to Shingu in Wakayama Prefecture: a trip of 170 kilometres with 168 stops that takes 6.5 hours not using highways. The route celebrated its 60th anniversary since it started operating in 1963.


The route seems to have become more popular as it has been featured on several TV programs. The fare for the entire ride amounts to JPY 5350.
