Where can you buy nice wooden buckets for public bathing in Japan? I have always thought they were really neat items, and I have always wanted to buy one.
I only know one place that sells them, and it may not be much help to you as you're located in the U.S. and they are local to me, however these people may be able ship to your location. If all else fails, you may want to try them.
Well I am going to Japan in April, and I will be touring from Tokyo to Kyoto in a 15 day period. I want to do tons of shopping with my wife on our honeymoon there, and the wooden bucket has been something I have always wanted to buy.
Ah well if you're actually going over any department store will have a decent set.

In case you haven't been over before and you're looking for a place that's just packed to the brim with interesting Japanese products, both useful and useless, plus lots of stuff that you can only get in Japan that will make good cheap souvenirs for ppl back home, I suggest checking out Don 'Kihote' (Don Quixote). It's hard to miss; huge red and yellow storefront with products exploding and spilling out onto the street, loud music, it's sensory overload if you've never been before. There's one in Shinjuku, Shibuya, one in Machida and those are the only 3 I know of off the top of my head.
A good, slightly higher end store with interesting goods would be Tokyu Hands. There are quite a few locations, I know they have them in Shinjuku and Shibuya again, there's also one in Ikebukuro, they're all over really.

I am a souvenir junky, and I am already planning on getting a Japanese PS2 and a few games, I really want to try sushi from a vending machine, plus really anything else that catches my eyes. My future wife and I are just really excited about the whole trip. I will have to remember ofuro set-o
Even though her and I will stick out like a sore thumb (she is 6'2", I am 5'11" 250lbs) its just going to be a memorible honeymoon.
