Living in dorm first year and saving up money! (For apartments you usually have to put down a decent chunk of money upfront so prepare for that)

Hello I'm Jason, sorry for intruding on the topic, I need an advice, I'm considering applying for TiTech IGP and MEXT scholarship for 2013 (October), but I haven't contacted any professor yet, Am I late for the party?. The deadline (according to titech website) is in middle December but professors are very busy people. Anyway thanks and good luck for everyone.
 
Yeah you're right, they are very busy people. I have contacted them and also haven't gotten any replies yet T_T slightly worried now..
But in my opinion you aren't late to apply as long as you can prepare all the documents right away, and start contacting them right now.

Yea definitely not too late but if you already have a good grasp for a research proposal with what to contact the professor with, that would be good.

thepie, did you divide your paper according to its structure i.e Introduction - Body - Conclusion. or was it a continuous writing?

frna i was wondering if you could tell me that do we have to mention that we're applying for the MEXT scholarship or do they just offer it the people they think deserve it?

i'd love it if you reply to this to the earnest as i have my proposal, portfolio, cv and transcripts ready. i just have to send it to them.
and one more thing..in the email..should we add why we choose the intended professor?

Yes my proposal has everything. Must be clear if you want to make a point.

There's a checkbox, about if you still attend without MEXT or not. Something like that in the app form
 
how the heck did you bring all that on one piece of paper?

So I emailed my respective professor two weeks back with my required documents, i waited for a week for him to reply but he didn't so i emailed him again asking him if he had received my previous email. He replied back in a couple of hours saying that he had received the email but was busy at the moment so could not go through the contents of the email.

So i was glad that he at least acknowledged my email but its been a week again since he replied back and i'm getting anxious if i should wait for him to reject me before i apply to the next professor or apply to the next professor regardless?

any advice frna, thepie would be much appreciated.

@fawadosman sorry I coudlnt contact my guy yet, hopefully I can get a hold of him this week.
You should definitely wait for a rejection before you apply to another professor! Press him again in my opinion. The deadline is approaching fast and they should get it done.

@littleflow3r no, only the letters that use the given document have to be "sealed"

Maybe I'm too worried with my English and Japanese language and i forgot about that important stuff.

Can I ask you a question. What is the difference between "Study program in Japan in detail and concreteness" section and the "Field of Study" section

Hey fawadosman, I'm applying for the architecture faculty too.... So what's your research proposal if I may ask? Is it a proposal of a building project like "International Airport" or something else?
 

No it's not about a building project rather its about my research inclinations and intent.. kind of like a statement of purpose that western universities ask for...google statement of purpose and how to write one and you'll get a better idea..And its a research degree so they're not expecting you to propose a building, they would expect you to propose research themes probably through which that building is designed probably.

and i would say that if you have all of your documents ready you should apply to the professor within this week as professors aren't really replying right now because of their busy schedules..Mine didn't atleast even after two or three follow up emails..

FRNA, it's been a month and three emails now and he still hasn't rejected me but hasn't accepted either..I'm getting extremely anxious and a little annoyed..I'm neither here or there. the admission window is going to close in exaclty a month and i still don't have a professor's consent..What do you suggest? should i just go ahead and mail the next the professor or still wait for his email?
 
Just ask him directly what his final decision is because you need his acceptance letter for the admission documents.
