Sumimasen...

For the past year or so I have been fascinated by manga (thanks in large part to Shonen Jump) and anime with subtitles. At fifty I find it takes me a while to get very far in whatever field I choose to endeavor so my progress is slow but steady (Go Yertle!) but I am able to sound out a few things on the few <<real>> Japanese materials I have tried to assimilate.

Would very much like to make some adult email pen-pals who would like to explore the possibilities of communication.

Greetings from the roof of Japan, where the snow's slowly but surely melting has given rise to the streams and rivers. . . Welcome to the forum rhixs !!

Ah ha !! Tucson, Arizona. . .where even on an afternoon in early January it can be 23 degrees, where U of A's mall brings back so many a fond memories of youth and pursuit.

Actually there are a number of us on the forum who have some type of relation with good ole Tucson, Arizona, basking in the valley down at the foothills of Mt. Lemon. (and as it turns out, you and are about the same age as well--though in my heart, I'm 25 years old. . . hee,hee.....)

Please do check out the whole forum and share and learn with all of us here. There are many areas and fora to check out. I'm sure you'll learn some more about Japanese. Feel free to PM me if there are any questions you'd like to ask but feel uncertain as to whether they'd be good for starting a thread or not, and I'll do my best to help out as much as time and knowledge allow.

Thank you for your kindness in acknowledging my post. In my heart I find it hard to accept no longer being twenty-five also ... here it is called The Peter Pan Syndrome, after a story about a boy who refused to grow up. Sometimes I wonder why I still struggle to grow and evolve but then I look around at those who have already surrendered and thank God that I still feel the drive to be.

Thank you. I have been perusing the various forums trying to decide where to dive in but I have to admit that I am a bit overwealmed by it all because it is all so new to me. A little familiarity (time and adventure will provide) and maybe I'll feel confident enough to try to become an active member of this community.
