Snow Monkeys

Hi!

I'm planning to visit in Japan next July and August. One plan is to see those famous snow monkeys in Yudanaka (Jigokudani Yaen-Koen)

Those look like cute animals, but is it worth to go? Is it better just make a daytrip from Tokyo or just head to Yudanaka and spend one or two nights in the area? Is there something else to see than just some apes in the onsen.

i have not gone myself. but i have many of friends who have gone to see them. who knows i might go before that and i will let you know.
