sleep apnoea

hi, i am from Singapore. Recently, i discovered that i have sleep apnoea...thats is to say i stopped breathing over a hundred times a night.
my doctor advised me on surgery or mask.
but recently i heard from my friend that there is a "clip" to the nose for sleep apnoea.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or OSA, can be quite troublesome and even lead to serious health risks. Here are some sites with information on the disorder, what causes it, and how it can be treated.

How is OSA treated?
Mild OSA can often be overcome by losing weight or by avoiding sleeping on your back. The most common treatment for OSA, however, is called nasal CPAP, or nasal continuous positive airway pressure. Nasal CPAP consists of a mask-like device and pump that work together to keep the airway open with air pressure during breathing. This device must be worn every night to be effective. Nasal CPAP can also help reduce the excessive sleepiness people experience during the day. However many people continue to have excessive sleepiness even when nasal CPAP is used correctly. For these people, PROVIGIL can be used in addition to nasal CPAP to treat excessive sleepiness, the most common symptom of OSA.

I guess your desired treatment is really dependant on how badly you are afflicted. If you have serious apnea or find yourself very tired during the day (each time you stop breathing you'll wake up, which disturbs your sleeping cycle), you might want to try the nasal CPAP (which I would probably find uncomfortable) or procedures like those discussed in my third link.

I have sleep apnoea also. The "clip" is called the "Breathe rite strip" here in the US, but if it's bad like mine you need the CPAP (constant positive airway pressure) machineto force your airway open or surgery. You can buy the strips online from CVS Pharmacy.
