Hi all,


I have an interview with these guys, an investment group in tokyo. But i did a little research and found that there past to be very dodgy indeed. Apparently they use to be called Toyo (or something). I don't want to travel all the way to JP to find a job that is basically a scam (from what i've heard) so i was hoping that maybe anyone knew up-to-date info on these guys?

can anyone get info on anyone you know working there or use to etc.

ps: i didnt even send my resume yet, only email exchanges, and was asked for interview.....

No, I don't need anyone to do any full blown research but rather if anyones heard of the company or friend of a friend etc experiences might help.

Heres a forum link were most people have been slanging off the company, who were also known as Toyo before they changed their name apparently:

I know from this it looks very bad, but I just want some sort of confirmation.

I scanned all three pages of the thread, and just based on what I saw there, I would steer clear of them. I don't think we have very many people (if any at all) here who are professionals in that particular industry, while it looks as though gaijinpot has quite a few. I believe that I would either give that thread a bump or start a new one seeking updated info were I you.

Thanks Mike, Its good to get a second opinion, even though it looks like I shouldn't have even considered them from the word go, I just like to be sure of things.

I was thinking it might be good just for experience, but the risks of being in debt are too big. I think this thread could hopefully warn other people too, beacause if you don't research a bit anyone can be fooled by them. Plus i imagine that alot of people will be offered jobs from them.

Banging one's head against a wall might be a good experience, but before I signed up for it I'd want a guarantee it's padded, not brick. The people who work in that industry and some who worked for that company gave every indication that it was brick.

There's no point in being so eager to get to and enjoy Japan that one ends up taking a position that makes the whole experience miserable. Self-defeating proposition, that one is.
