Safe Haven

@Liala-chan - i tried looking, but i just found a lot of guitar tabs or chords, even some for the bass ... i found one place where u can buy it, but its like 50$ ...

i havnt read all of the lyrics .. i dont have the time .. but from what i have, its like hes done a 180. wasn't it him who said that as long as there was war there was no god, or was that someone else? cause .. there is still war ... or i dont know, maybe he had this vision thing? or some kinda epiphany? *trying hard to find reason* lol

Yes, Hyde said that. I don't believe Hyde believes in God or is religious, I think he's just exploring certain things spiritually. And I think he finds the Christ Story interesting, moving, and sad because people use it for war. But none of those things means he's turned Christian on our @$$...or at least, I hope not
I ordered the album off cdjapan so it should be here in a few weeks and I'll know for sure then. I'm hoping he hasn't pulled a U2 on me. But I don't believe he has.
"A Christian couldn't have written the album I wrote."--Hyde (about "Faith")

hey, does anyone has piano notes on L'Arc-en-Ciel or hyde?i don't know where to find it....

I don't think it should matter whether hyde converted to Christianity or not. It's like Christianity is a taboo or something here. Oh no! He's tainted! Boo, hyde! But I digress.

hyde has expressed in recent interviews that he believes "love" is the driving force in life, transcending even death. He believes that religion is merely a veneer or a tiny stepping stone; that the deepest part of it is love and everything else about it is inconsquential. I agree with him. Jesus Chirst, to him, probably embodied the most powerful form of love: unconditional and unwavering. He's simultaneously impressed and bewildered by that love. Impressed enough make an album about it; bewildered enough to ask questions.

I don't think hyde is necessarily an atheist anymore, nor is he a born again Christian. Far from it. I think right now he's searching, analyzing the contradictions: if there is a loving God, why is there war?, etc.

I think he's agnostic.

It's not "taboo" it would just make me very..."upset" isn't the right word but something along those lines.
I was born into strict Christianity and it hurt me deeply (and still is, since my mother's side of the family's new hobby is to tell me how often they pray for my mortal soul and how I'm going to hell if I don't, "turn back now!"). I'm not very fond of the "Us/Them" mentality but if Hyde became a "Born Again Christian", as you put it, it would feel as though he'd become one of THEM. I know that isn't a good frame of mind for me to have on the matter but it's the one I have nonetheless.

Side note: I've seen the set list for the "Faith" Tour and he's performing "Masquerade" so for those of you who believe he's gone Christian you might want to rethink your stance on that.

P.S. I think agnostic is a good word for Hyde.

well im a chrstian at heart but it doesnt change my lve to hyde's musc whether he's christian, agnostic, or atheist. but i'll support to whatever he's into..yeah,just see how long ths one's gonna last?

Hellooo~
*points to username* Guess where Kari's decided to make my first post? ...Who is Kari? Kari is me.
You know what else? This thread makes Kari happy. Everywhere else I go there are Hyde threads, but strictly for his MUSIC. Of course, I adore the music... but it's wonderful to have a place to die over the utter kawaii-ness of Haido! <3

:win:

You're welcome!

Ooh, another point against Hyde being a Christian: He doesn't believe in an After Life.

And I stab YouTube! :box: Kari found Moon Child on YouTube and Kari is watching it on YouTube because her copy hasn't arrived through the mail yet and she is unpatient... The way it's uploaded has each scene to it's own video... Kari just got to the part where 32: SPOILER) Toshi dies and fricking YouTube wont LOAD THE NEXT SCENE!
It's a wonderful movie(so far), by the way! So sad though...

Hey people, you've got another new one to deal with....

Lol Kari, I just watched Moon Child on YouTube too, and it is a pain in the @$$. I think I was up till 3 in the morning watching it....yeah, no university for me the next day...

I own Moon Child but I did have to watch "Kagen no Tsuki" on YouTube. MAJOR PAIN RIGHT IN THE @$$!!! :21:

Yeah, it was a true pain... long too. After adding up the time... It would have taken me 'till around 2:30AM if YouTube would've worked...
but Kari just finished it! Made Kari cry so much... My dog was on my lap the whole time. Her fur is amasingly wet at the moment. Even though Gackt's acting was a bit... off, I luffed the movie entirely!!
I see alot of peeps who say it's horrible. You know what they can do about it? They can screw themselves in a corner.

Yeah, seriously, I love the movie. Every once in awhile Gackt's acting gets a bit strained but other then that it is fantastic.

Meh, Kari needs new offline friends. Kari tried to show two of her friends the clip of Moon Child where Mini-Sho does his little kawaii smiley thing.
Me: "I wanna show you guys something" -takes computer from miyu-
Miyu: "It better not be Miyavi..."
Kari: "It isn't for a change."
Miyu: "--or Hyde."
Me: "Moon Child."
Miyu: "Oh God."
Piyo: "Is it that japanese stuff?"
Me: -nods-
Piyo: "You japanese freaks!"
And miyu took the computer back...
None of my friends understand my obsession...
Anywho, Kari is going to the mall to look for Faith next week!

sr in advance is these have already been posted, i have totally and completely lost all track of what has been and what hasnt been posted!!

I don't like Christians either. My family is atheist but I have met a few people that just went overboard with that Jesus Christ thing. It's scary. They always try to force their opinions down other people's throats. That's why it would be kind of weird for me if Hyde went Christian....I read somewhere that he criticized Benedict XVI, though. Is that true???

I'm not sure. But I have "Faith" now and have listened to it several times over and I can now confidently say, Hyde ain't Christian.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Don't have the album yet. Would you please share with me your thoughts on ''Faith''?

I have got Faith now, only a few days ago but sadly I haven't had time to listen to it yet I guess I'd need to understand the lyrics, too, to find out if there is 'Christian' stuff about it... but I really don't care too much about his religion

When asked if he was Christian, Hyde replied, "A Christian could not write an album like 'Faith'" And as an aside, he also does not believe in an After Life. Belief in life after death is the foundation for religions like Christianity.

This album ("Faith") employs Point of View writing. Hyde is writing from the point of view of others, some of which are believers ("Jesus Christ") and some are not ("Dolly").
One of the strong questions Hyde posses throughout the album is, if God is "perfect" and we are made in His image why is it our fault if we fall? If an artist makes a bad painting it's the artist's fault not the painting's. The painting cannot help but be what it's creator made it, so why should it be punished for something beyond its control?
Another question Hyde's always asked, why does God allow wars? If he's in control of everything why allow us to murder, rape etc? If you follow that line of thought (of "God knows and controls all") to its conclusion it takes you to a very dark place. It means God willingly, and consciously, decides who will be murdered, when, how and by whom etc. Which puts God on the same level as the murderer since He made the murderer do it. And for what?

I think "Faith" is an album about every side of religion and belief, the good and the bad. It brings up some very tough questions but leaves you with no answers (much like "666" in that way), Hyde leaves the conclusion you draw completely up to you. So I can't really share "my thoughts" on it and hope to give an accurate picture. This is an album of questions not answers.

Thank you...that was a very interesting interpretation! Looking forward to listening the album myself...
