Rosetta Stone

I would like to introduce you a very good software for language learning. Rosetta Stone is a program which has been created for everyone of us who want to learn foreign languages. Rosetta Stone uses a unique learning method which is called Dynamic Immersion. So what is this? Dynamic Immersion is a learning method based on images, intuition and interactivity association. The available languages are U.S. English, British English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Danish, Dutch, Greek , Jew, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Swedish, Filipino, Thai, turkish, Vietnamese and Welsh. The lessons are offered in three different levels. The first one is destinated to beginners, the second one is destined for medium speakers and the last one is destined for those who want to become fluent in the language.

It is a good program. I use it. I know it's immursion and all. But before starting the program I recomend that you learn some sentence structure. It helps out alot.

I keep hearing of it I wanna pick it up pretty badly but I was kinda worried of how good it would be lol

how much does it cost in canada... or anywhere else around the world?? here in hawaii it shoots for about 300bucks a pop.

I tried to use it for Japanese and then realized, no. It's not good for Japanese until you have at least JLPT4 level knowledge.

One of the first test things is This isn't very complicated yet definitely not for beginners. I was going though Genki, and they start -te forms in the 6th lesson. Out of thirteen.

If you have already started, or the language is close to yours (latin languages are perfect if you know english, german was fun for me) but if you're just starting out, you shouldn't use RS.

It uses pictures and there is absolutely no English (apart from the menus).
The trouble with it is is that you have to rely on the pictures alone to translate it and its not always obvious what's going on for example earlier on today i was on a section about "counters" though it never told me this and i was supposed to work out not only there are quite a few counters for different things but that i also had to add how many there were with it.
I failed miserably 10 times in a row and almost gave up. I searched the net and then realised what "counters" were and then it dawned on me and i got through the section ok.
I have learned a lot from it already but the price tag is so steep.

Yes. Thats what I do. I have a dictionary at hand to help me.

There is an option to view the Romaji which is pretty useful when starting out.
I see no reason that you have to have any previous knowledge prior to using RS. You might pick things up quicker if you have some basic knowledge.
