Enter the doll-faced Asian sylph on the arm of a silver-haired Western suit.
I'm not surprise really. Ever since evolution created man and up even till now, man has fulfilled his primal desires.
His primal desire to go to war and fight.
And his primal desire to impregnate (or simply to just have sex with) young submissive women and girls.
For better or worse, feminism and the rise of independent white Western women has created barriers between their vaginas and the men's penises. A side effect is that Western women are borrowing certain aspects of men for themselves: Confidence, decisiveness and strength.
Unfortunately, those things are not what the average man looks for.
Mankind might have progressed a lot since the neanderthal days but some things still hold true:
Men just wanna **** good looking girls who act womanly, not manly (confidence etc). The less effort required to gain access to the vagina, the better.

... or maybe some men just happen to fall in love with someone who happens to be Asian?

when you speak in averages, your veracity is average at best. I'll thank you to not purport to speak for the rest of us.

Wait...are you saying Asian women are easy? And there will always be men who "just wanna **** good looking girls[...]" in the world. It's human nature to have sexual impulses but not every man acts on those impulses. You are a male, correct? Do you follow these stereotypes you ascribe to men?

oh, but who says this only goes for girls?

I know guys who sell their soul for getting to better places too ... trust me, I know ... I'm just so happy that I really can believe that my current Asian bf really loves me for who I am, ok, in this might also lay a bit of nativity, maybe from both of us, but then again, who cares ...

... and I do believe in him, actually, some circumstances have proved it so, but it could have been just as easy ... not so at all and I've been there too !

A) Last I checked Western women were doing just fine finding boyfriends/husbands/lovers etc

B) Since when has being a trophy wife been something to aspire to?

C) Confidence, decisiveness and strength are manly. So your ideal woman would be indecisive, weak, and self conscious?

If you read the article more closely, the writer mentions that the women given as examples are competant businesswomen on their own. Rupert Murdoch's new wife helped him to crack the Chinese market as did the other women given as examples (in other words, they helped their partners' business plans, weren't just simply compliant model types). I think older men marrying younger women is nothing new. The only twist here is a few business tycoons droppping their older Western spouses in exchange for younger Asian women.

Hardly a trend, mixed nationality marriages are on the upswing, people travel more now.

I read that article too and I wondered why the author was criticized (better: bashed) by everyone.

Btw, there is one mistake:
Wrong order.
His primal desire is not warfare, but mating.
The warfare / fighting / violence is a direct consequence of competition caused by mating.

I like east Asian women because I think they're cute, delicate, well-mannered and in general I would agree that they are more feminine then Western women. That does in my mind create a certain balance with who I am.

A strong, graceful woman that balances a man's masculinity rather than tries to conquer it is what some people are perhaps after, and personally I've found that to materialize more often than not in the form of a woman who has been raised within an east-Asian cultural norm, vs. a Western one. And then you know, because she's such a good partner, you go out of your way to listen to her and please her. Seems quite natural to me, you try to please each other in the way that you respectively like rather than competing over the same territory like dogs and trying to dominate both sides.

I think Western couples who work out well manage to do the same thing. Certain things are the man's territory, certain things are the woman's, and the roles are clearly defined, and you have fewer problems. Even in relationships where the woman is, let's say, a really overbearing cast-iron you know what, if she's got a really mellowed out effeimnite husband it all works out. It's just all about balance.

The white girls I dated.. we fought a lot, usually over the BS things that the Japanese girls I have dated don't do. A lot of it is unspoken stuff. A lot of the fights seemed to be simple challenges of authority, flat-out protest movements based on hormones or god knows what, really confusing stuff. Women mistakenly call it stupidity but I call it efficiency: a man's decision making is quite transparent and easy to grasp. Maybe that eats them up inside, maybe they want more drama from their men, no clue.

As for the trophy wife thing, hey it makes no difference to me if she's drop dead hot in the eyes of the world.

Italicized for convenience the extreme fail of that mindset and why it probably drove your former women crazy.

"Don't challenge my authority, hormonal woman, I am the decision maker around here."

I'm an easy going, un-confrontational person (in real life, on the internet I'm a bit of a jerk) but even I'm offended by that. Maybe you confuse the desire to be not treated like a child as 'drama' and 'hormones'.
So what you require of your girlfriend is for them to bow to your authority, suppress their opinions in favor of your good judgment and then you will be a gracious husband because she knows her place and you are happy with that.

Please .... take moment to reread that, think it over a bit, maybe even sleep on it. Drink a nice cup of peppermint tea, stare deep into the opaque liquid at your own reflection and reevaluate the man staring back at you. The key is recognizing your own flaws and how maybe your tenancy of blaming women for relationship failure had blinded you to your own failings as a boyfriend.

My brain just shut down at this topic. It shuts down a lot when I encounter stupid ****.

It's sad because I know so many Japanese women feeling trapped and depressed from being put down who can't stop talking enviously of the friends that are able to stand up to their husbands. Some, of course, being just as hypocritically clever or conniving as Westerners behind the veil of delicacy and politeness, if not even more so.

But, hey, at least he's honest...

When it comes to certain things、you are absolutely right, I certainly don't want my authority challenged simply as a matter of rule, as a matter of 'I will challenge him simply because 1) I can and 2) I'M the boss'. And by and large, this is because the issues in question are/were of a personal nature.

For example, if I want to go out with friends once in a while (and I truly mean once in a while, just enough so that I don't feel like I'm losing touch with close friends at least) I should be able to without it being a starting point for an argument or have it hang over my head forever and ever. If I'm having difficulty at work with something I don't want to hear idiotic ideas like 'You should just quit' or 'Why don't you complain to your boss' or 'That job isn't so great anyway'.

If it comes to decisions that are within the realm of our 'coupledom' then I'm completely on-board for team decision making. Maybe I didn't make that clear initially, so within those boundaries I do apologize. My idea of a good relationship isn't a big parade in my honour, because that's incredibly boring and unfulfilling.

But, for not wanting to be with someone who thinks my personal business is their business too, I make no apologies. I will say this, perhaps it's a reflection of the quality of women I dated back home.

Also please note, the original post I made was completely my personal experience because I'm fully aware of the anecdotes on BOTH sides; that Japanese men are overbearing and in some cases abusive, and that conversely some Japanese wives are very stern and controlling.

I think you've read too much into my post. By 'certain things are a man's territory and certain things are a woman's territory', there was absolutely no idea of 'office and kitchen'. I think you see reflected in what I've said the worst case scenario, for whatever reason.

Oh and I have no need to look in a mirror thanks, when necessary introspection is done from within in case you weren't aware.

but japanese women aren't the only asian trophy wives..
there also is korea and thailand, wich have the most beautiful women in asia.
but i know you are referring to kindness and gentle spirit rather than appearance.

japanese women are very complicated..

You guys have been trolled.
As in they will probably not reply to this thread.

Hahahaha, I love this goddamn thread!

Well I don't think bakaKanadajin was being sexist, just maybe a little unclear in places (people thinking he meant 'office and kitchen' kind of division).

However, "who thinks my personal business is their business too", I have to say that I must operate that way within a relationship (I mean a long term committed relationship, not a casual or fairly new relationship!) and see it as being a reciprocal 'arrangement' so to speak. I mean that old hackneyed term that people talk about 'sharing your life' with someone, well actually you can do that. (Obviously some people aren't comfortable with that and prefer a certain distance in their relationship.) However, of course I don't mean it in terms like to stop someone from going out with their friends, or to say stupid things about a situation. I don't think those are examples about sharing your personal business, I think it's just people being stupid! ¬_¬

For an example, I have to be in 'control' in some sense. But actually I'm a laid-back person. So that works in a practical way. Anyone who exercise control just 'because they can' is probably not very secure. Why would I want to cause a kaffufle because my partner wants to go out with some friends? There is no good reason, only a reason that I might feel insecure, and that's a stupid reason, because the issue in that case is with me, not with the activity in question. The same with making daft suggestions about what someone should do, it's not really 'trying to tell you what to do' it's just not being very knowledgeable about the situation.

Anyway that is off topic it's understandable that older men often fall for younger Asian women, it's the whole breeding thing, that's why men like a younger model, and also east Asian ladies stay looking younger for longer than Western women (not that I'm stereotyping much! lol).
